Tarantino is part of a family of restaurants in the Fairfield County area. The Marchetti-Tarantino family, whose roots run deep in Gravina in Puglia, southern Italy, opened their first restaurant, Maria's Trattoria, in Norwalk in 1983. Columbus Park Trattoria was then opened in Stamford in 1985, followed by Osteria Applausi in Old Greenwich and Tarantino Restaurant in Westport in 1994. Maria Marchetti makes all of Tarantino Restaurant's homemade pasta, and you can taste the difference. Maria's homemade pasta is only part of the great care the family takes with all of the dishes they serve, including the careful selection of all ingredients. With many years in the business, the Marchetti-Tarantino family takes great pride in their reputation for culinary excellence, and their warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes everyone feel right at home.
